Event Assistant (full-time, Thursday - Monday)

Cherry Creek Estate is a premier wedding venue located in the heart of the East Kootenays. We are expanding our team to include an Event Assistant for our upcoming 2019 wedding season. Under the direction of the General Manager, the Event Assistant is a key member of the event team at Cherry Creek Estate. Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of food and beverage services, excellent communication and customer service skills, be highly motivated, extremely organized, a natural leader, a team player and able to multi-task and problem solve. The Event Assistant is also responsible for assisting the General Manager in day-to-day event related tasks. This full-time position has the possibility for an extension to a permanent position with benefits for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guest services

  • Event set up & take down

  • Oversee inventory and reconciliations

  • Onsite event coordination

  • Occasional bartending & banquet serving during events

  • Admin support to General Manager

  • Other duties as required


Qualifications:

  • Must have valid drivers license and access to vehicle

  • Serving It Right Certificate

  • FoodSafe Certificate

  • Preference given to applicants with education and/or experience in event coordination, hospitality, marketing or business management.

Position Duration: May 13 to October, 2019, Work week: Thursday to Monday (40 hours/week)

Remuneration: $14 - 18 per hour
